Partners in Free Knowledge – Together We Can Make a Difference
Wikimedia Israel invites organizations, educational institutions, cultural institutions, media bodies, and social nonprofits to join a meaningful initiative of creating and sharing free knowledge with the general public.
We offer tailor-made writing courses customized to each organization’s needs, developed in collaboration with each institution to suit its interests and the background of its participants. These courses teach participants how to contribute to Wikipedia and enrich its content across a variety of fields.
Why join?
- Widespread Knowledge Accessibility – Content created during the courses becomes available to the general public and reaches hundreds of millions of readers each year.
- Preserving Expertise and Knowledge – Organizations can document and expand their knowledge in unique fields, ensuring its accessibility for future generations.
- Credibility and Professionalism – Being actively involved in knowledge creation allows organizations to become part of the public discourse in their areas of expertise.
- Empowering People & Training Staff – Participants gain valuable digital tools, information literacy, professional writing skills, and community engagement experience.
How does it work?
- Tailor-Made Approach – We design each course together with the organization, adapting it to participants’ needs and the organization’s field of activity.
- Blended Learning – Courses include self-paced learning units, online/in-person sessions, and one-on-one mentoring throughout the process.
- Professional Guidance – Experienced instructors lead the training and support participants through writing and editing.
- Meaningful Outcome – Each participant creates or improves a Wikipedia article relevant to their field of work.
